8/14 Comody of Errors...But we got through it
« on: August 14, 2009, 09:28:13 PM »
Set out late today as Matt had practice this morning.......so Bob did some Honey do stuff.

Matt was home at 1030, cleaned up and off we went. Stopped by Slaters to get our sub (enough for 2 days) and then headed to boat. First error

Now for second error, Bob was going to stop at Julians for bait, said to self we are late get it at the dock.

Arrived at boat, loaded stuff on and pulled around front to get Gas/Bait Ice.

I gassed the boat while Matt got the ice and bait, came down to boat with Spearing that looked like krill....and kellies that looked like 1 1/2" grubs.

Asked our dock manager, whats up with this, got the "thats all we got"

Bob's error, should have done what i wanted.

Loaded ice in cooler, asked Matt, where is the sub?  Got the deer in the headlight look, "Dad i left it on the counter in the store" Matt Error. So no lunch and punny bait we headed out.

WAs going to run to Ambrose, but when we rounded the hook changed my plans, Bob error.
(Got a call from my pal Pete later in the day, they had a three man limit to 25")

Ran to another sport and fought through birds and shorts for 2 keepers, made a run in the Bay and again birds, shorts and 3 more keepers.

Just about ready to call it a day and Matt's rod doubles over, he is fighting a nice fish. Brings him up real nice, Bob is about ready to dip the net and I hear "he is hooked good, I'll swing him in"

We needless to say as soon as he was lifted he did a flip of the tail, bounced off the gunnel hit the water and was gone. Matt error.

Would say the fish was all of 27"  Matt just stood staring at the water.........at least we got a freash Fluke dinner (i did call the Mrs to get my sub at Slaters so she and Carin had our Lunch)

That certainly is a rough day!  Seems they always happen that way, one error after another.  Makes you wish you knew it was going to be a day like that so you could stay in bed.

Even with the errors you caught some keeps...nice job!
