Fellow Anglers,
On Wednesday 9/2/09 had the Keith Wakefield party out for their final trip of the season for Fluke, but too bad the weather gods saw fit to give us horrible drifting conditions with an east wind and a outgoing tide......which resulted in an almost dead still drift. Hard as we tried, and moving to many locations to produce some kind of movement of the boat, the fish just wouldn't respond well. We did have about 35 throwbacks along with 4 keepers, one of which was just a tad over 5 lbs, but it was a tough day of fishing to say the least. Bucktailing with a 4 oz Spro tipped with a strip of squid proved to be deadly inside the tip if the hook. Trying to move "outside" was fruitless as the conditions were poor for most of the fleet working for fluke. Bait fishing produced almost nothing and we hit them with just about everything we had.
On Thursday 9/3/09 had the Tom Tanacredi party out for what proved to be even worse than Wednesday as far as conditions AND catching fish. BOY, what a bust. Once again, wind against tide proved to be just what we didn't want. It's a shame that we couldn't have had nice conditions for the final days of the 2009 fluke season. I have one more fluke charter tomorrow and then the season closes in NJ...........
WHAT A JOKE!!!!!!!! CALL YOUR STATE REP'S IF YOU REALLY CARE
