Fish Monger 9/3 Fluke To 9lbs 10oz
« on: September 03, 2009, 09:01:06 PM »
Set out for another day Of Fluking... Man Da Summer and Season went quick!

Darren, Jimmy, Brian, Lavbob Bill, Mike Mgm, and Cool hand Al rounded out crew today...

Broke the inlet to a ne breeze and some spaced Ne swell. Headed up north to where we had our fish on our last trip a few days ago... Water was philty brown... drift was kind of fast but fishable... and we had almost no bites... besides a couple of shorts... Went further up inshore and offshore some rough bottom etc no keeps @ 10 oclock.

Headed another mile to some small rock piles and finally started picking a few keepers with shorts and some seabass... wasnt good but compared to the early morning we would take it.. Talked to others with slow results so we stuck with it.

Like a keeper a drift some... some two... Then None but... picked and plucked.

Set up a Drift and Al's Rod Double over and to the net comes a 9lb 10oz Fluke! Al Best For the year.. Congrats You Deserve it.

Bite Died off and we went Looking inshore Only 1 bite, 1 keeper...

Headed Off To Hills 3 Miles Off were Bobber was Pickin at shorts... It was Prob our best Action of the day... But we only got a few keepers out of it... Lots of shorts and Just Misses

Headed back in to where we started the day... We Boxed Up a Few nice keepers and Bill landed a 5lber and Squeaked out His Limit!

So it was a tough Bite and Conditions werent the best with the water everywhere we Fishing Looking like my coffee.

We put in a Long day and made the best of it... The Guys Grinded Out 19 keeper Fluke and 7 Seabass For the Cooler...

Only one day left... Back at it tomorrow... The Bottomfishing, Blues, Bonito and Albies for us!

Thanks again Guys!

Nice catch in lousy conditions!  The water was really dirty, brown and full of all sorts of trash.

Bucktail, I wish that was my fish, but the credit goes to big Al.  First time I've fished with a group of masters of the big bucktail...your never too old to learn.....got to get me a supply of those 4-6 oz jigs for next year!
