he Coast Guard rescued two people aboard a 40-foot boat near Little Egg Inlet on Monday.
The Coast Guard said it received a call at 5:24 p.m. from a member of Tow Boat U.S. reporting that a 40-foot boat had run aground and was taking on water.
A rescue helicopter crew from the Coast Guard Air Station in Atlantic City responded, hoisted the two people aboard the boat onto a helicopter and flew them to the air station, according to a prepared statement from the Coast Guard.
"They both had life jackets on and were prepared when we arrived on scene," Lt. Jeffrey Sullens, pilot of the rescue helicopter, said in the statement.
No injuries were reported.
