YSA Trolling & Bottom 9/20
« on: September 21, 2009, 10:55:26 AM »
Cooch and I headed out early to see if we could avoid the chore lists

Chilly and flat as we rounded the Hook at sunrise, thought about the Mud Hole but as we slowed down in around 80' we saw some signs of life on the sounder. Dropped down a few types of offerings, but no luck. The sun got a little higher, and wow what a day.

Decided to troll with some swimming plugs for a while heading south, also nada. Saw some more signs of life, figured maybe blues holding near some lumps where it came up to 40' perhaps we were not down far enough. No knockdowns. Saw little if any bird action.

Lots of boats bottom fishing, decided the trolling was not going to produce so dropped down some sands, clams, whatever and chased the skunk overboard with porgies and short seabass and even some fluke. Nothing spectacular on any front, all set free for extra living time  t^

Made the long run back to Schlusselhafen, got to the slip and it was so nice we sat down in the sun and had a few beverages  chrz  before cleaning the boat.
