IBSP 9-24-09
« on: September 24, 2009, 06:05:30 PM »
Hit the beach about 1pm or so, section 8 tons of Squitos.

Saw tons of birds and 3-4 pods of dolphins but no fish for me, few hits and taps but just feeding the crabs again.

I went with Bunker and Mullet based on past reports here but again I caught the infamous NOTHING fish.

Sun went in and the gf wanted to leave, had been there for 3 hours so I fed some seagulls the rest of my bait and off to home we went.

Try again some other time!

Good try, get em next time. It is tuff being land locked where you know the fish are just outside your casting distance and won't come in.  :P

Good report Steve
I was out there the same time today, from about 1:30 till 4.  I covered the whole park, so I must have passed ya.
I had the same results today.  Saw those same dolphins and watched one pod do aerial acrobatics right in front of me.  t^
Not much bird action till about 3:00.  They were on bait (no fish following the bait) and a large slick of dead fish. :P
Only thing I saw anyone get was a couple robins up at Gillis.

I plan to get back out there tomorrow for about 6:30am.

Eng? you don't happen to drive a blue toyota pickup with a cap? sitting there with your wife?

Reason I ask is the dolphins did there aero act right in front of this couple next to me.

Oh ok.

I need to get me a 4x4 to get out there. This walkin over the dunes getting attacked by squitos SUCKS ASS!!

I also need to get my hands on an old cooler or cheap cooler in the case when and IF I do catch a keepable fish. :)

That is the only downfall to IBSP if you don't have a MSV.  The walk is a killer, especially in neoprene waders ;D.  It's the best workout you can get...I think ::) ::) :-\ 5hrug.

Sometimes I skip IBSP for that reason, when I am feeling lazy...and hit SSSP.

Hi Steve, you might want to try Ortley Beach at 3 Ave,  There are some good holes there with a very easy walk.  I usually do pretty good there.
