Police help fishermen off jetty in Bradley Beach
« on: October 03, 2009, 10:27:39 AM »
Quote
BRADLEY BEACH — At about 7:45 p.m. Friday police responded to a call to help two fisherman off the jetty along Ocean avenue.

Sgt. Theodore Bianchi said the men fishing did not take into account the wind conditions or the tides.

The ocean water had risen above the jetty preventing the men to get back to the beach safely.

The officers at the scene threw ropes to the fisherman to guide them off the jetty.

There were no injuries, Bianchi said.

It is always good to have a plan when you go fishing. Know when the tide will be coming in so you are not stranded at the end of the jetty. This goes for the boaters also. You have to know if the tide will be too low to get the boat into a spot where you want to be or across a certain area.

Fortunately, these guys made it home to their loved ones.  t^

Yeah, a happy ending is always good!

However, these beach front communities are just looking for reasons not to allow us access to the ocean to fish...this type of behavior adds fuel to their fire!

Hey, we all have done some stupid things in our life, I'm glad these two made it back safe, and I'm sure they learned a lesson they won't soon forget. <'((((><
I've spent most of my life fishing, the rest I've just wasted     <'((((><
