Got out to the park for a couple hours with the wife and dog yesterday afternoon. Nice sunny beach day.
Got the end of the incoming tide into outgoing. Water was a little cloudy. Wind light and variable out of the west.
We stopped for clams and the best we could do after multiple stops was a pint of fresh shucked clams and bag of mullet. The lack of bait at the shops was a good indicator of what was to come.....the beach looked like the mall parking lot in December.
Soaked the clams and mullet on FF rigs and Hi-Los.
Tally for the day was 1 strong willed skate and 1 feisty 9in fluke, both on clam.
Also threw an AVA 007 / teaser combo. Had a few lite hits on that with no hookups.
Didn't see anyone else doing anything, although the report from the shops this morning says otherwise.
