Fla Sword trip
« on: October 16, 2009, 06:00:48 PM »
Just got back .        (
-----------<')[[[[[[[[[[[[[[[[]><went for 3 days and stayed for 2 weeks ( don't know why I came back )

Trip was great flew in to ft lauderdale booked a room at motel 6 in dania

Fished the next morning 92 and a SW wind blowing at 6  slight chop caught some bait and moved out set up and droped our rigs and power drifted north and south over some bottom the capt was privi to ( wouldn't tell us where we were )

My buddie Paul was first to hook up and lost a nice sword at the boat (well over 140 )_

my turn next, hooked up and landed a 130 lb'er

Have to tell you now THANK YOU LORD ,THANK YOU JESUS for electric reels , I never fished in water deeper than 800 ft and we were at 1,600 to 1,900 ft. ( with 14 lbs. of stick lead )

Any way big fish was 215 lbs. got sun poisoning and ate alot, fished alot and had a great time. I'm sure I'll miss the fishing ( but I think I'll miss the CONCH fritter's more )

So ... what I miss while I was gone ????
Did the bass move in yet ???

Sounds like a great trip, except the sun poisoning.
And compared to what you experienced, you didn't miss nothing.

Sounds like a great trip, minus the sun poisoning.  Nice catch.  Anything too deep for me to wade in...is too deep for me ;D.
