With work keeping us too busy to take days off, and the weekend weather sucking so profoundly, the last 2 months of the season where kind of a washout for the Fluka Brasi crew..
I was hoping to get some last licks in on the Stripers, but when I saw the forecast early last week, with yet another small craft advisory predicted for the upcoming weekend (last) I waved the white flag.. Having decided to keep the boat close to home during layup, (and snow already starting to fly up here) I took advantage of last Wed. beautiful weather and ran the boat the 115 miles up the Hudson to Kingston, where it will spend the winter.. While a bit overcast, it was a sweet day.. with little wind, and an incoming tide at my stern, the run from Keansburg took just under 4 hours.. Here's some of the sights along the way..
Cya in the spring lady!
The Palisades starting to show color:
Spotted the research vessal Pioneer near the Tappan Zee:
West Point:

And finally back to my home creek.. the Rondout.. Check this bad dude parked in front of the Maritime Museum in Kingston
Thus ends a somewhat underwhelming season for Fluka.. On to hunting, and Steelheads.. I may try to jump a headboat for a final pull on a Striper, and am really looking forward to seeing some of you guys on the upcoming tog trip!
