14' fiberglass skiff with 25hp motor
« on: June 18, 2007, 08:39:16 PM »
I have a 14' fiberglass skiff with a 25hp outboard. This boat should work fine for two guys fishing the Navesink and Shrewsberry Rivers? I fished out of the friends 18' lund on sunday that work great. I just don't know if the 14' is a Little small for those rivers. Thanks for your opinions guys.

Hi NJDevil,

It will work ... fished plenty of times in boats that size on such waters.

Just have your PFDs close by ...

Go catch some fish,

The 14'er will be good for that area.  You can get into some spots where a larger boat can't fish.  Just watch the wake from some of the big boys.

Thanks for the input guys. I am looking for a used 16'-18' alum. boat, already have trailer and motor. I would be more comfortable in that size boat, but I will fish the 14' until I find what I am looking for. If anyone knows of a used boat that size please let me know. Thanks again.
