Finally got around the tug and dredge to get on the ocean and found some disorganized birds right by the fishing pier. Flat calm seas and you could see and hear fish slurping bait off the surface. Tried just about everything and finally had one short bass on a 007 ava. Left this frustration and got down to Manasquan inlet and saw some birds and a fleet out by the bell buoy. Moved off and read some pretty good fish in with the bait. Ended up with 11 blues up to 10lbs and 5 short bass on the avas. All fish were spitting up sand eels.
