Probably the last trip for the season for the Irish Ayes
« on: November 21, 2009, 07:36:31 PM »
Took the Irish Ayes out for what will probably be the last trip of the season. Joining me was Matt, Peter and Dennis.

Cleared the inlet just after 8am and saw the largest amount of boats I have ever seen in a fleet. Had to be well over a hundred boats a mile or two outside of the inlet (Shark River).

Made the trip to the fleet and immediately got some major marks on the machine. Dropped some Ava's down and I bring in the first fish, a 27 inch striper. Back he goes. Moved around several times to get back on the fish. A good number of blue fish brought in by the crew and another short striper for me.

After having a few boats come flying past we decided to let the fleet be and headed north for some togging. (Another day with no keeper stripers  :P)

Arrived at the Red Church area and set the hook. Dropped back on the hook and has a slow pick all day with the toggies. Many shorts were released. By days end we had eleven keeper tog in the cooler. We did not keep anything under 15 inches today.

Had a fun day and am looking forward to tomorrows trip on the Sea Hawk.  t^

I would like to sneak in just one more trip on the Irish Ayes but I don't think it will happen.  :'(

It always seems to just slip away.Time flies! I know you had a full season with plenty of great trips. I know it'll be a relief when she's high and dry and that cold winter's here. Oh well there's always the head boats, open boats, charters, that trip to a nice warm fishing spot and dare I say it"the couch". Life is gooood isn't it Joe?  ;D

I was also in that fleet today but I didn't do as well. I was in about 40 feet of water with nice marks and left them to join the fleet.
I've been fishing a long time and I don't think I've seen that many boats in one place. Beautiful day out on the water though.

It was a great season Joe, and I was thrilled to be a part of it!  It's always a fun time fishing with you.  Thanks for having me aboard and for putting me on my personal best striper!  Twice! ;D

Went down to the marina today, the Irish Ayes was on blocks in the marina parking lot. Looked aweful lonely, wanted to have a fish flopping on it's deck. Till next year.  chrz

Had many trips this year. Some good, some not so good, but all were funt^

Thank you to all who have adorned her deck and bloodied her up.  slt

Taking the boat out for the season is always a lil tuff specially when the fish are still in the area. From "Peggy Lee" to the "Irish Ayes" here's to a good season.  chrz chrz

Hey Joe,

How come you are pulling the boat already? When I had my Parker I was in until the end of January?  Marina regs? You might need to move to the south channel where we fish until the river freezes.  ;D Anytime you want to jump on with me let me know. slt

Thanks Art, Happy Thanksgiving to you also and to everyone else.  chrz

Chris, the marina owner wants everyone out by Thanksgiving. He says he needs to get his work done also. The water is off at the docks and this makes it tuff too. Oh well.

I am good to go pretty much any day. I do appreciate the offer. If you have an opening, just give me a call. My cell number is in the contact forum. If you need more than one person, I can probably fill the boat for you if needed. We will pay for all the bait and fuel used.  TT^

Great season Joe! It was a pleasure crossing paths with you from time to time. We will only be in for a few more weeks, but you are welcome on with me anytime. I'll make sure to let you know when were heading out.
