Ungraded my Slip in AH marina
« on: January 13, 2010, 02:07:45 PM »
Since I am looking for another boat, a little larger, I requested a larger slip for the 2010 season.  I got the call today, and my new slip is on Pier 6.  I am not sure where that is as of yet, but I am no longer on the floating docks but do have shore power now.  I am sure it will be interested trying to load and unload on a non-floating dock, especially when trying to tie up the boat.. We will see.

Good luck  t^ Like everything you'll get the hang of it after a few times, I would have to say your worst enemy will be low tide for loading & unloading.

Nick

Tieing up to non-floating is no big shaes but loading, unloading can be a problem depending on your load/passengers.

Nothing like slinging 2 bussels of clams, and two sleeves of ice from the dock over the bow of your boat at low tide in the dark and then shuffling them down the side to the stern. ;)

One of the big reasons I moved, still at fixed dock but now lying side to to make loading people and bait/ice a breeze.

I'll just have to take a running start and use a parachute on low water. rofla

A few times in and out and you will get it.

The dog couldn't get the ladder thing down, so I had to switch to a floating dock.  rgmn

worse case I just pull out and load on up on the floating dock by the ramp or something.

That is the best, easiest and safest way.  t^

Hey Nick, the load/unload at low tide, especially a lunar low can be quite the adventure.  But you'll figure it out in no time.  You have moved closer to us, we'll have to venture on over for a cold one........
