I think I will be hitting the bays docks for a while as they are starting to be productive.

The docks I refer to are not in the park but in the bay from Seaside Heights to the park itself.

There is a great spot to fish if you like to use light gear though, and it is at the canoe and kayak loading area at A 21.  Park in the loit with the wind mill rest station and walk back.  There is a dock to your left that is productive and a hole straight out that you can wade to as well.  That whole area is walkable except straight out.

Hope this helps

Great, I was suppose to go over there today and buy a new reel but the power went out here last night and the heater in the house would not go back on.  It took over 4 hours to get back up today.  Glad I had a contract.

Hey Paul.... I am gonna give it a try at first light tomorrow here in Brigantine. With the storm incoming.... should I hit my beach or my bay? Any suggestions from anyone who knows the Brigantine/Atlantic City area would be appreciated. Gotta go on foot since I got no Buggy.... Also what should I be throwing into the water in this situation to get my best results?   ??? 5hrug ???

Hey Sean, well, my suggestion would be the bay as it will warm up faster and the bass will be on the feed wagon soon.  My other suggestion would be either sand worms or blood worms if you can get them and rich enough to pay the price for them, or, small to medium lures like the X-Rap in the Ghost pattern or the Mombo Minnow - 5" in a light color as well.

All slow retrieve with a stop and go action.  Up here in the upper bay thsy ar already catching bass in the 10.9 # range.

Good Luck to you.

Happy Catching

Paul

Pink longer soft plastics >:D are working really well too.  Lots of worms in the water already...and decent size.  I saw a ton yesterday along the water in Island Heights.  I don't remember them being this early 5hrug, but they are there.  I bet the case is true everywhere in the bays, so match the hatch...GOOD LUCK!

I use these. But, I put a little nick in the tail of the fish. The action of the fish as you're reeling in is too "perfect" if you ask me. I simply cut the tail just a little bit to give the tail a less then perfect swim.

I also used those pink soft plastics like Matt said. I used them with some guy who rhymes with Truck Sale Mob. We used them around this time last year, maybe a little later in the year. I know they were killers for snapper blues as the one that is sitting on my computer desk is bit in half. Souvenir!

I am just telling you what those that were catching were using to take fish so far.  Only artificial I have heard working was the Gray Ghost X Rap.

 5hrug

I will be trying others when I go out as I will not pay $10 - 12.00 a dozen for small bloods or sand worms.

I am pretty sure that I have a pack of 4" and 5" Pink finess softs, as well as some of the soft fish, although I never thought to knick the tail... makes sense though! Thanks everyone for the advice, and I will certainly sign on to check for more hints later this evening. Here's Hoping that I am not fishing for the winter skunk!!!  clp

I hear ya Sean...Right now I hear a flat of worms is averaging $250 or so.  Not to good a price as many B&T's are not even going to handle them any more.  To many complaints.

Around the Toms River area I think the only 2 places handling them are Dock Outfitters and the Hook House.

Happy Catching

Riptide B&T in Brig is advertising the Biggest Fattest Bloods in town. Of course, by the sounds of it, the competition is slim... No pun intended!
