Mike, I was out Sat, Sun and Mon.  I didn't see one bunker.  I also didn't get any good readings on my recorder.  I can't wait for them to get up this way, if they ever do.

I will be out tomorrow too.  Give me a shout on channel 10 if you want.  I will prob be heading north out of Shark River.

Shrewsbury Rocks are over a mile off of Monmouth Beach.  A lot of nice fish come out of there.  Also, a lot of boats are there.  If you are at Monmouth Beach you can see all the boats there.  Quit a busy place.

why don't you get a canoe... or Kayak.. i see them out there all them time and is much cheaper then a boat.  Just throw it in off the surf directly in front of the rock, its not far.

Hi All,

The Shrewsbury Rocks were dead today. No bunker; no Blues; no Stripers. All were skunked.

Paul and I found a rather nice size school of bunker 2 miles off the Seaside Ferris Wheel. We snagged them and tried everyhting in the book but nothing bit or nothing had found them yet.

We also saw a small school of bunker just north of the "Tower" in Manasquan.

We drove from the Manasquan Inlet to the Shrewsbury Rocks (hitting every place where Stripers could be) and then down to Gillikins area of Island Beach State Park and not one Blue or Striper was breaking water and very few marks.

We did see someone in a marina with what looked like a 20 lber on the fillet table. Some folks, it is rumored, had success by Martells.

The word of the docks and radios was no better.

I will be out tomorrow looking again. There will be a windoe for cow Stripers in Ocean County soon.

BTW, both bunker schools were heading North.

Good luck,

Capt. Ed

how do you know your seeing Bunker and not bluefish on the fish finder.  I get my bunker in the marina's where the odds of bunker are much greater then bluefish, but when your on the ocean side, they can be anything schooled up...

Thanx Capt Ed for that report, although not very encouraging.  Looks like tomorrow may be a fluke day.
