Well With the Boat Back In the water and all ready to go we had to go fishing... Our First trip is Slated for next week but We went up the river for couple shake down flounder trips Sat and Sun with A few customers and Friends.Heard from a few buddies that had good floundering during the week. So we headed up to the bay to give a it shot and run the boat.
Sat 3/27 Headed up to the bay with Pat, Mike Wells, Travis and Mr Bob Bates.Fishing was very very slow, with every spot we stopped at we would only catch one we had a few misses but not Much. Water Temp Must was cold it must have dropped a bunch from last week Had 43 - 47 degrees on the machine. We wound up with 8 Flounder 6 were Keepers.
Sun 3/28 Headed back up the bay for another go at it... Joe Jigs, Cool Hand Al, Bruce, Stelly rounded out the crew. Water Temp was about the same But the Bite was Even worse... Like they didn't exist...in the same spots my buddy had 25-30 twice during the week. A few short Bites on the worm and only a couple fish... Tried from Beaver dam to mantoloking bridge. Wound Up with 3 keepers.
So we Didnt have a great weekend of fish catching but it sure felt nice for us and everyone on Board to be back out on the water on the Fish Monger.... Everyone wanted to wet a Line after a long winter get out break the cabin fever while waiting for the blackfish to start biting .
Wish The Fishing was better But Plenty of Monger Days to Come!!! What we were lacking in fish we made up for with tons of Laughs and chop Bustin amongst good friends and customers!!!
We Will be Bottom fishing Starting Apr 1 For Blackfish,Ling and Cod... Flounder trips In between Bottomfishing... Will Keep everyone posted in the Open Boat forum
