Mojo Lures

New NJODM Client, G & H Offshore Lures, They sell Mojo Lures.. they are a hot item in Virgina for bass.. they come in 3 sizes.

16oz  20oz and 28oz   Capt Scott swears by them..

Has anyone ever used these bad boys.   I'm expecting a package in the mail before the party with some of them for the Banquet

Very similar to a parachute jig. They do hammer the stripers with them. You do have to work them though.

I was talking to hotrod today, and he told me about these. I honestly had no idea what he was talking about. But I did see them at the somerset saltwater expo not too long ago. Guy was telling me they are great for mahi (without the weight) and on an umbrella rig type.

I'm from VA.  The mojos work well.  Obvisously you use them trolling.  The heavy weight gets them down fast and allows you to troll more lines by keeping the mojo lines close to the boat and lighter lines futher away.  When I Rockfish (Striper fish) I troll 5 lines.


The way I rig them is the rod has a snap swivel on it.  I rig the mojo to a heavy 3 way swivel with about 3-4 ft heavy line (usually 80lb mono).  The mojo becomes your bottom lure.  The the other ring on the three way swivel gets another lure of your choice.  I usually use a 10" storm Menhaden color. This becomes the top bait.  The top bait gets a longer leader, usually 5-7ft.  Once the 2 baits are rigged to the 3 way swivel, snap the 3 way to the snap swivel on the rod and drop it overboard. 

Run 2 mojos of the transom close to the boat.  Run 2 umbrella rigs off of the gunwales from out rodders put one way back and one kind of way back and run a stretch 15 or stretch 30 way way back down the middle.  This is a typical southern VA/mouth of the cheseapeake set up.

what country said,   and if they are draggin the bottom you are trolling too slow.   I have a couple of them that i plan on using up here out of barnegat inlet this spring.
