Raritan bay April 10th. 2010
« on: April 10, 2010, 03:44:41 PM »
Pulled out of keyport around 7:30am in search Of Striper's. The tide was outgoing for over 2 hours and the weather was windy from the Northwest with gusts up to 30mph sunny with some clouds and small craft warnings. The temperature was around 45 deg with a water temp around the same. I had Cashin and Massbaster on board and we anchored up and chummed Clams off Union beach area. I caught one short Striper pretty quick but that was it. Maybe it was too sunny for shallow water. A few other boats were in the area and the sea Hawk and Atlantic Princess were around too. We went over to the buoy 11A area in 35' of water and picked up a Skate and a Spider crab. Then head into the Keansberg hole with no luck. We motored back to the keyport bay and chummed the rest of the Clams and had a couple of tugs on the line which were probably winter flounder. I head back to the barn and cleaned up. windy day out today but we gave it a shot. t^
Now off to the banquet. chrz   Good luck!,   Eddie

Great effort Eddie. You may not have scored big on the water but you hit a homer at the party. And as CaptBob said, you shoulda kept da beach bag.  TT^
