That breakdown doesn't sound too too bad Luna.  The marina that repowered my boat was getting $150.00 per hour.  Put 'marine' in the equation and the price of everything skyrockets.

I disagree with you guys.. add in the fact they took 10 days plus the labor cost.. Damn its a big bill you could have save some money doing it yourself..

just my opinion

the 10 days killed me, but that isn't unusual..  The doing it yourself part would be easy as well if the access was better.  I am charging the batteries as we speak, and no matter how much is cost, IM BACK...

for them to even get to the pump, they had to remove the batteries, wires, oil tank for the boat, oil tank for the trim tabs and the fuel separater.  YES, all this is labor just to get at some simple pumps.

I will let you know what the plan is.  I have to be in Little Egg next weekend to work on the house.  Since the boat is in the driveway, I will probably bring it down for the weekend.  If your not doing anything Saturday night, or Sunday, come down for a nice crab dinner... guaranteed...

Hi Nick,

I got mine all fixed today to. MY list of changes from the submersion looks a lot like yours except for the washdown pump. We tested the batteries with a hydrometer and some cells were dead. Salt water is nasty. The new batteries with not have that issue as they are sealed and are rated for submersions.

I did get to change a few things that have been on "the list" for a while.

Good luck to you and better boating ahead,

Ed

It's good that you are finally set to get back to fishing/boating.
You would think that the manufactures would do a better job at getting access to items that they know will need to be changed out on a somewhat frequent basis.  It's usually every 3 years or so with a washdown pump and as for batteries.  I have two.  I replace one each year.  This way, I always have a new battery for the season and the other battery is only a year old.  Sounds like a waste of money but it's cheap insurance and peace of mind.
Both items are very easy for me to access.  I hate to think about if and when I have to replace a fuel tank though.  The deck would have to be cut and replaced to gain access.

Since the boat is a 2004, I am at that 3 year mark, so I guess it would have had to been done anyway
