When we were bringing the Tuna-Tic up to the Highlands this past Monday, I was awestruck having never seen so many Bass so early in the year. The Bass and Gannets were working on Huge Herring schools all the way up the beach. By the time I got to Spring Lake, I just couldn't stand missing such a great opportunity so we stopped for a bit and threw a line in. Within TEN seconds, I had a fish on...a 30"-er. Looks like it's going to be an early year for Stripers!
We went yesterday morning for a few hours and had them up to 15 pounds. We even had fish on the incoming tide which is not very common this time of year.
We have plenty of dates open here in April if anyone wants to get in on this early bite.
