Met Mike (aka MBOY) at 6:30 am at Wagners Marina in Keyport.
Loaded all our gear on Mike's Funky Munky.
Dock lines off at 7 am.
Made our way out of Keyport Harbor & I pointed Mike in the right direction.
Mike has been wanting to learn the proper method how to clam Bass so I was Mike's mentor for the day.
Knowing we had 2 hrs of the Flood & a west wind the conditions were going to be wind against tide.
I turned to Mike & said anything we catch the next 2 hrs will be a bonus.
I showed Mike 1 time the rights & wrongs when it comes to clamming Bass & Let me tell you Mike caught on right away.
Baited up 2 rods & we casted out.
Within 10 minutes we had Bites.I missed the 1st few but Mike landed the 1st.For the next Hour & A half the Bass chewed. At 9 am we had 9 Bass boated. All under the 28" mark.I turned to Mike & said Mike once we have wind & tide together on the ebb we are going to crush them.It took awhile for the tide to swing but once the tide started the bite never turned back on until the last 2 hrs of the ebb.
The 1st trip on Mike's Funky Munky yielded 16 Bass which were all released.
