B-day Stripers, Raritan bay 4-18-2010

   Pulled out of Keyport at 9:30 with Cashin and Dan"I brought bananas" the boxer short guy. The weather was windy and partly cloudy temps around 50 deg, We headed towards the reach channel with plans to troll and jig some Striper's. We set up trolling some Stretch 25's and were marking plenty of fish. The port pole started Screaming and Dan pulls in a 27" fish.  t^  Back to trolling marking lots of fish but no bites. I decided to start jigging with big shads after reading Arts report yesterday, (I actually saw Art out fishing with Capt Lou very close to where we were) t^    After a couple of drops, Bam I get hooked up with a nice 33" keeper. The tide went slack and the fish lost there appetite so back to trolling again. Chris pulls in another keeper and then Dan on stretch 25's.
 We had a total of 10 fish with 3 keepers in around 5 hours. Nice day out on the bay. t^ Good luck,, Eddie
