well after last week you have to figure the bite would die down... as I had been seeing in the reports... we left early again with an old co worker and my uncle and headed up to the Rocks again... no birds, no boats... didnt look very promising.. Due west wind..we did see one or two other boats trolling so we figured they must have known something...
threw on some umbrella rigs with chartreuse shads...and just worked our way between the buoys...45ft or so...picked up first keeper right away, thought it was game on, but nothing for about an hour... then hooked up a nice cow..25lb 36"+...bigger then the cooler is all that mattered.
then a bluefish here and there, but at least is was keeping us busy..then a double hook up of keepers Stripers... and then shortly after one rod started spooling off!!!... after a decent fight it revealed itself... a triple header of keepers... Day done, were out!!
never seen that before..
other boats were picking here and there also... head boats, only 2, were north near the hook jigging... and some other boats way inshore were jigging too..Not the fishing like last week but they are still out there, just have to change your attack
