local pond for carp!
« on: May 12, 2010, 08:25:42 PM »
Well I'm not to fond on fishing for carp and what not, there known as crap fish. But I will tell you, if you want to have a blast with a freshwater fish and some light tackle. Find a creek or a body of water where you know carp exist. Throw a couple handfuls of corn out. Throw your line out, I actually use my 4 foot ugly stick for trout, pfleuger spinning reel and 6 lb test, and dam is it fun. Fished today in the drizzle, went 7 for 9 in bringing them in. One snapped line, 1 hook came loose and the others brought in. Took pictures with my phone, do my best to post them. Biggest 9 lbs, all others around 3-4-5 lbs. Until next report, fish on!
Give a man a fish, and he can eat for a day. But teach a man how to fish, and he'll be dead of mercury poisoning inside of three years.

Nice catches!  They are fun...we have some big ones in the tributary lakes off of the Toms River.
