Eagle Cuda 242 Fish Finder
« on: July 01, 2007, 05:58:20 PM »
I would like to put my Eagle Cuda 242 Fish Finder in my 14' skiff for use in the Navesink and Shrewsberry Rivers. My outboars does not have electric start so I don't need to put a heavy battery in the boat to run the fish finder and a new pump. Anyone have any suggestions? I thought I was told I could use a motor cycle battery. Is this possible? Any help would be great. Thanks guys!!

NJDevil,
Several years ago I had a 12 foot boat.  I screwed my transducer to one end of a 1x3 and a clamp to the other end.  That obviously got clampt onto the transom.  I had the D/F mounted to a swivel mount that had a quick release and used a motorcycle battery to power it.  I used this rig for several years without a hitch.

A motorcycle batter will work just fine I had a similar rig for my 10' jon boat years ago.
