Irish Ayes great day bassing 5-20-10
« on: May 20, 2010, 06:24:04 PM »
Had Bob G, Matt and Tommy D on the boat today.

Exited Shark River inlet and immediately found some bunker. Snagged a few dozen but found no bass with them.

Headed north and made it to the rocks without sighting any birds or marks on the machine. Tried livelining and got zilch. Went over to the dreaded troll. Got double header blue fish on the chartruese shad umbrella. Later picked up a thirty six inch bass on the same rig.

Trolled for a while longer without another hit so we decided to run south. Great decision.

Flew past my inlet and saw a fleet south of Manasquan. We never made it that far. Got to Sea Girt and had more bunker that we would ever need. Cast out to them and began snagging. Before we could get a snagged bunker to the boat we would have a bass inhale the bunker. Absolutely hammered the bass in this area non-stop.

Finished the day keeping the two blue fish and six bass. Released at least twenty bass, all in the twenty five pound or better range.

Best day on the water so far this year...hope it keeps up.

Matt hooked up.

Tom on a biggie.

Another bass on top

For anyone who tried to call me today...sorry but my phone died and I was unable to talk to anyone. :P
