Long time no post Va beach
« on: May 24, 2010, 06:35:38 PM »
Hello everybody long time no post have been real busy since the move... but still have made plenty of time to test the local waters things are really starting to heat up down here....Filling up 5 gallon buckets of sea mullet and croakers on a day to day basis. good sized flounder are being caught as well as some nice sized stripers from james river bridge pier. Got to say i love the action down here. Local head boats are running some really great deals currently cant wait for the summer to warm up and the bite to get crazy.

Nice to back on the forum many reports and pictures to come

P.S. if any of you get a chance to visit the Va Beach area ill give you your inshore tackle box essentials.

Drinking Straw Rigs for mackeral the more colorful the better

Gotcha Plugs you only need 2 colors white and pink. Great for any predatory fish.

Triple drop loop rigs with 1/0 hooks great for sea mullet croaker spot and spade fish.

And of course a fish finder rig with bunker for stripers. Or clams or peeler crabs for red drum.

And artificials are king for nice flounder or live minnows.

with this tackle box anything can be accomplished.

hope this was useful

Great to hear that everything went well with the move.  So far My Uncle and I are planning on being down sometime in July.  As soon as I get a date in stone I will let you know.  We will be fishing the CBBT Pier again.

Happy Catching
