Once again "LIVIES" (or fresh dead) were the ticket.
We battled a flat tide in the early part of the trip but PORPOISES, snapper BLUES and "makin bait" kept us busy and amused.
We filled the livewell with "LIVIES" (THANK YOU to all that helped) and were off to join the fleet ready to do battle!
Within minutes of the first "real" drift (everyone passed the practice test earlier) we had BASS ON!!
Again not a mad dog bite, but steady enough between hook-ups and run-offs to keep everyone on their toes.
With crew members not working the trip joining the day, the livewell stayed full and fresh bunkers were available for those who's baits "lost their LIVELINESS"!! (btw, fresh dead bunker have been responsible for at least half the recent catches, but we understand your need for "FRESH, LIVELY"!)
Once again the day proved to be a late bite which Captain Jim fished through and we had anglers with limits, 1 fish, run-offs and unfortunately....no fish.
Livelining is NOT as easy as "plop this bait there and hold on..." Please, LISTEN to the crew and at least after your 3rd or 10th run-off TRY our way!!! Sometimes the guys on the water 50 plus hours a week have wisdom to provide!! We will NOT sail WEDNESDAY, MAY 25, 2010
We will RESUME sailing
THURSDAY, MAY 26, 2010
