Raritan Bay Stripers and a Fluke 5/25
« on: May 25, 2010, 08:13:05 PM »
John and myself plus Bob who is up here visiting from Florida out of Sayreville this morning around 7 with a full bushel of clams.hit the open bay which looked like a mirror and we started marking a lot right away.decided to pull the stretches around for awhile, which we did without any connections.decided to head up front towards the hook and spotted some birds working and some movement on top, stopped and tossed metal and top water but no takers, lots of marks here so decided to go on the anchor and do some clamming here.tried for awhile and nothing, headed up front and anchored where I originally planned to go and started clamming.a very strong out going tide.Bob gets the first fish which is a big Striper that he has trouble moving, finally gets it close to the boat and it pops the hook,I guess the fish have to win sometimes.next up John gets one at 37 inches that goes 19 lbs.then I get the big one at 39 inches just over 22 lbs.Bob gets one at 35 inches that goes 16 lbs.we pulled a few more at 35 inches and one more at 37.continued thru the tide swing with the bite.actually lost track of the count.Bob pulled in a Fluke that had taken a clam.all Striped ones released except one 37 incher for the box.I also continued my success with the elusive skate.a great day on the water, headed in around 3 and left them biting.     Kez

It ain't murphy's law, if there's something dangerous...  he'll find it!  Whether it be a hook or whatever....   He'll be the first to admit it!  And so lucky for me I have the same gene (hooray)!  Good job on the video pop.  And I like the way you directed.... great job on what I believe is your first video attempt!
