Do you think the government would be as patient with any of us if we had an unanticipated oil spill from our boat? I think not.  nosmly

BP should be fined heavily for every day this thing goes on. If they can't get the job done they shouldn't have been in the oil business to begin with. Everyone should have a disaster plan, why didn't they?

The trouble with fishing is it was better before you got there, and after you left.

I am waiting for BP to declare bankruptcy.  Then what???

Why aren't we seeking other outside help???  There are 3 ships that have offered to help with siphoning the oil up, but, we have declined their help.  They were used in the other places and have a very good track record.  Another opportunity lost.

Now we are really doomed.

This entire scenario is ridiculous.  BP and the Federal Government should be ashamed at how this is being handled.

I heard something like 2+ months before anything will be completely stopped.

I just hope this time people do their research and not a knee jerk reaction.  We need good solid judgment to get us back on track.  The train we are on now is heading for a disaster.  It is not to late, but watch out for all those that will be running to just give lip service just to get into office.  That would be the worse that can happen.

People's live will be ruined, fragile ecosystems will be ruined, coutless wildlife dead...What will happen? The politicians will give it some lip service and maybe a slap on the wrist for BP.

Exactly.  I can't believe that we allow a company to do something that could potentially lead to such a catastrophic event when they have NO IDEA how to address such a catastrophic event.   smk

They did it because they were allowed to do it by our "leaders" in Washington.

BTW, oil drilling is administered by the Dept of Minerals. Most of the beurocrats in this dept are oil company people...Basically, the fox is fully in charge of the hen house.

Simple Solution
Not sure if anyone saw this on CNN but it seems like a no brainer and would also help our farmers. To me if you can put a man on the moon  you should be able to plug a hole.
