guesstimated fuel consumption
« on: July 03, 2007, 08:07:11 PM »
right abouts 42miles on 12 gals of fuel= 3.5 mpg that was maintaining 4000 rpms going out and most of way back. about 8 miles at 5400 rpms, which killed my average a little.

3.5 mpg x 105 gals = 367 mile range not bad i think. will know for sure when i finally get a fuelflow meter installed.

 canyons here i come,,,,,,,,

just kidding on the canyons, but i sure as hell will be hitting up the ridges ;)

Pick a good weather day and you will be suprised at how far you can go.   t^

Don't forget the 1/3 rule, or whatever it is called.  1/3 fuel there, 1/3 fuel to return, 1/3 fuel reserve.

Good luck and good fishing.

Wow, my fuel consumption with the old 2-stroke was a whopping one to one and a half gallon a mile.  I would use sixteen gallons an hour, at 4500 RPMs and do about 18 miles an hour.
Since I put the 4- banger on it has gone up, but I haven't had the time or oportunity to figure it out yet.  I know at 4500 RPMs I now burn about 13 gallons an hour and cruise at about 22 MPH.  I know that is much better now but haven't figured out by how much.  I need to hook my GPS to my fuel management gauge.
