Hunter 2-Raritan Bay 6-4-2010
« on: June 05, 2010, 09:28:07 AM »
Pulled out of Keyport at 6Pm with Anthony and John to find 75 deg water and calm water. We looked around for Bunker but did not see any. We started trolling around the 11A can and started picking up Bluefish on the Maja Spoon, The stretch 25+ was not getting hit at all. I decided to look for Bunker again and found them way up the raritan reach channel by the 58 marker at the tip of Staten Island. The guys had fun pulling in a couple dozen on the snag hook and it was time to drop anchor somewhere. I found some readings near the 11A can and anchored up. The tide was getting slack and wind against tide was swinging us around a bit.
Johns rod started peeling line and he pulled in a 32" Striper,  Then Anthony's rod was next and he had a big sandshark. A few more runoffs but no hookups and it was time to head for the Marina. Nice day out on the water. The next trip will be further south. Good Luck,, Eddie
