6/5 Raritan Bay ......no life today
« on: June 06, 2010, 09:02:12 AM »
Had the Shepelsky charter out and Craig from Delaware to round out the crew. Headed out at 1:30 wind against tide blowing a stiff 20+ out of the west t^...love those days....got set up and started clamming for bass.
Capt bob rolled out and anchored with us  and released 2 nice blackfish. After nada for awhile, we parted ways to search for the bass....i made 4 drops today with the same results....Capt Bob called me in on a little bluefish action and we boated a couple of those small (but better eating) blues....coulda had a couple more but we were breaking fish and missing the hits (maybe from the choppiness).
Other than that, it was a ghost town with everyone all over the place trying to find fish....i think the water temp played a big part....over 72 degrees in most spots on the incoming and higher on the outgoing. cfzd

on the tournament note...i did hear of a # 50 being caught in 59ft of water on a bunker spoon....not sure if that fish won the Hi-Mar tourney or not tho.

Great effort Capt Carl.

72 degree water temp! WOW. Highest I have seen it this year was 65 at one point, but mostly closer to 58.
