want to go crabbing, need some input

I'd like to take my GF crabbin, most of you know I live up in Wayne, so I need a good spot to go off a pier that's not TOO far from me. I was thinking the seaside exit?

Before I had my own boat, my son and I used to go the the Dock Outfitter in Seaside. Rent a small skiff and crab all day long. Tons of fun and good crabbing right behind the store. Folks also crab right off their dock if you would rather not rent a boat.

The word from the local B&Ts is there are plenty of keepers for the past 3-4 weeks now, which is a bit early.  I haven't tried yet myself, but plan to this week.
