Phyllis Ann Fluking 6/22/10
« on: June 22, 2010, 07:46:08 PM »
Invited myself out on the Phyllis Ann today.  ;)  We left the marina around 7:30, gassed her up and headed out for a day of bucktailing.

We decided to try our luck inside in the morning, but the action was sparse.  Hit a few good locations with only a couple of shorts to show for our efforts.  We finally moved outside and had some better action on flukies up to 17 1/2", but we were unable to find a keeper today.
For bait, we had some squid, spearing and killies with us. (Well, we had the killies for at least two drifts this morning. fcp)  But, I believe all the fish caught today were on the bucktails with Gulp.

Despite the lack of keepers, it was another fun day out there on the Phyllis Ann.  Rod also got one step closer to achieving one of his important goals. That is, to get rid of his flip flop tan line.   ;D

Good effort guys, hate it when that happens with the kille pots, I'm sure everyone has had that happen to them at least once, always assign someone to pick up the trap before you move for another drift.  t^

Good try guys.

Don't use a killie trap. Use a small lunch size cooler with ice on the bottom a wet rag over the ice and the killies on the wet rag. Will last all day and you are not chasing down the killies in the cart or the cart.  TT^

Remember to drain off any melted ice.

Joe,
That's what I would normally use.  But the killies were a last minute thing in the morning.

Oh well, now there's a half pint of killies roaming free in Barnegat Bay. ;D
