Headed out for another day of Seabass Fishing. Greg Vongas , Kyle, Gary, Bruce and Son Brandon rounded out today's 5 man crew.
Well it was another super day on the bottomfishing grounds!!! Started off local drifting some small structure for 40 Keepers... Went on to the spot where we ended the day yesterday beating on them.
Started all over with drop n reel on big seabass... Keepers far out numbered the short... Just about all the keepers were nice size 14-16 in with some bigger Knuckleheads mixed in.
Guy boxed up there 85 keepers here for a 5 man limit before lunch time!!! Also had some nice ling and threw back a Bunch of blackfish and a flounder. Never even dropped the anchor!!!
Decided to break out da bucktails and head to the rough stuff to try our luck with some Fluke.
Got set up after a few drifts we Found a nice patch of fish... Bunch of shorts with nice keepers mixed... Kyle had a nice fish over 5lbs... Couple more 19 -21 in Keepers.
Looked up to see 12 year old Brandons rod doubled over a good battle we seen a huge fluke coming to the surface... Got it in the boat and it weighed in at 9.58lbs and was 30 1/2in Long!!! He now likes bucktailing Prob should of weighed even more but it was very thin!!! Congrats Brandon on your personal best and setting the bar high for the start of our fluking season... You can bust your father all season about it!!!
Made a few more Drifting plucking a keeper or two every drift amongst shorts. Ended the day with 10 nice keepers!!!
By days end the guys boxed up 125 Keeper Seabass before Lunch Time along with 10 Ling. Then the guys went on to Bucktail 10 Nice Keeper Fluke up to 9.58 lbs in the rough stuff. Threw back our share of Blackfish, Short Cod, a Winter Flounder and some Short Fluke as well.
Great fishing, Awesome Crew, Perfect weather. Was a real special day to be on the water!!!

Got One More Striper trip and seabass until the end of the month... July and Aug it will be all about the fluke... Just like the past two seasons... Bucktails and Big Baits in the rough stuff where the big boys live!!!
