Headed Out for our first fluke Charter with Joe Brush and Friends. Dave, Brian, Mike, Don, and Greg V rounded out todays Crew.
After Finishing a seabass trip last week Bucktailing a 9lber and getting some nice Keepers we were excited for our first day of Fluking.
Headed to da rough stuff and when we set up our first drift we had no Movement... Zero Drift... bounced around making short moves and we managed to hit a few Nice keepers on the head but it was tough as we were standing Still and Not Covering Ground... Picked a couple more Keepers along with some shorts while waiting for the bite to pick up.
Started to get the current and more Bites, picking some keepers on some drifts others with a bunch of shorts. Nasty slide with the current and slight breeze boat was spinning and lines drifting forward but at least were where moving and picking some fish.
Drift picked up and we started to get a bite going picking a keeper or two every pass with shorts including a couple of 4-5 lbers. Picked one here one there until the drift got real fast.
Don had the Hot hand Bucktailing up his Limit on his first fluke trip of the year with us. Put in a good day and We bounced around fishing a bunch of different patches. The guys fished hard to put some nice fluke in the cooler.
By Days end We wound up with 21 Keepers up to 6lbs and 5 Keeper seabass.
Not so bad for the first fluke trip esp in June.
Joe and Crew were great we had Lotsa laughs!!!
Thanks again Guys!!!
