I am new to this forum but have been reading some of the posts and feel as though everyone could be of some help to me. I do a lot of salt water fishing in the Florida Gulf with my boat for Tarpon, Permit, Bone Fish, Snook, and Red Fish. I also enjoy dropping anchor and throwing a live shrimp out a a wreck or bomb hole because you never know what you are going to catch.
I am making a trip with my wife to spend a week in Avalon New Jersey this July and it will be my second trip there. I have not done any fishing there but plan on taking my boat this trip but have never done any fishing in New Jersey. I would love to catch some Stripers because I have heard they are a great game fish to catch. I would also like to do some simple flounder fishing or bridge fishing where I can take my wife and in laws out on the boat and catch a bunch of fish. They have not really fished before so I want to make sure when I take them we are catching fish and not just sitting around waiting for that big game fish bite.
Any advice you guys could give me would be great. Anything from rig setup, bait, location, etc... Like I said its my first time taking my boat out in Avalon and have no idea what kind of fish to go for, where to go, or what rigs I should be using.
