7/1 Report From Gulf
« on: July 01, 2010, 09:23:18 PM »
Completed our first day of cleanup. Got a late start due to weather rain and wind to start they day but we shved off around 0945.

Got right into the nasty stuff at the mouth to Mobile Bay, clobs of oil, tar balls and debris covered in oil. Set out booms and then pumped the oil and tar into our tank. Weather held out and everybody was able to due some good work.

Saw a lot of fish flopping on the surface covered with oil, crying shame. Attached a few ics of the operation......back at it 0600 tomorrow.

Give a man a fish, and he can eat for a day. But teach a man how to fish, and he'll be dead of mercury poisoning inside of three years.

Just wondering, I like the pictures but was wondering at any of your meetings and briefings were you told to not photograph anything in the area pertaining to the spill?  The reason I ask is I have a brother in law down there now doing work for hurricane remediation.  He was told that there were not to be any pictures or video taken of the destruction in the area.  If it was known that he or his company took the pictures they could loose their contract.

Like I said just wondering...
