Sea Hawk fluke report 7/2
« on: July 02, 2010, 06:39:55 PM »
A light crowd today had a fair pick of keepers overall. Plenty of action for most of the day with short fluke ranging from 8" to 17 7/8" and some big sea robins. Had good flurries and then lulls throughout the day.

High hook had 5 keepers including the pool fish at 4.5 lb. Good job Rob C!

Had some with 2-3 keepers, some with 1 and only a couple that had no keepers. Still a very pleasant day on the water with some pretty decent action. More keepers than people onboard so I guess that is a positive thing.

Snappers are in at the slip and can be caught before we set sail for those so inclined.

Not a bad day Mike...is that "T" holding up those three nice fluke?

T and I snuck out on Friday for some fluking.  She managed 3 keepers while I only put two over the rail.  Got mine on 1oz glo spro tipped with pink 4" gulp swim mullet.  Think all T's keepers were on pink spro and pink gulp. LOTS of shorts for action though.

I tried the larger 6" Gulp power grub and caught smaller shorts :headscra:  Did go to hanging a teaser above the bucktail and went with a 3" gulp shrimp but only enticed shorts to bite it.  Best action, keepers, and larger shorts all came on solo bucktail for me. T tried some snappers for awhile but no real action on them 5hrug

Guy that was high hook and took the pool was using boat-bait and 6" Power grub on regular fluke rig.  Really worked his baits constantly.
