Report On LBI Fishing
Well, fishing has been getting better. "Cousins" pushed off Saturday at 2am for another try to find some Bluefin Tuna. Arrived at the tuna grounds and had lines in the water by 5am and worked the 30 line and the 40 line. At 8:45 the right flatline went off and we had out first tuna of the season boated at 9:10. Trolled around and had some skipjack and a couple of other knock down. The group was happy to get the Bluefin and wanted to get back to the dock so they would be able to grill it up for dinner. Fluke fishing in the ocean is starting to come alive with several 4 pound fish coming to the dock. Most of the fluke fishing is still in the inlet but they are starting to show up in the deeper water. Long squid strips and a minnow has been the bait of choice. Sea Bass fish is is great with best keeper ratio still. We have been fishing some of the closer wreck and they are give up some nice sea bass. Water this week was cold along the island for this time of year.

It was nice to see the first tuna one the boat since the first trip out all we had was bluefish.  Looking for the next window to get offshore again.
