Hudson Canyon 7/5
« on: July 06, 2010, 12:07:25 PM »
My first canyon trip this year with John,Vic and Capt. Dan headed out at 3am to some sporty sea conditions with the forcast saying its going to lay down so at 60 mile we came across bluefin tuna jumping out of the water and bait so we put the trolling spread to catch a Bonita and a lot of bluefish so with all that bluefish action we pack up and headed east,at 8:45 we hit 72 deg blue water and the lines went in after some time watching other boats hook up and changing out lures and the spread the flat line goes off a short fight a 45lbs yellow hit the deck,a few hours later we got covered up it was 5 or 6 rods went down and only 3 stuck a mahi, short yellow and another 45lbs yellow it was getting late in the day so Capt. Dan want to catch a tile fish so off we went a short troll over to tile fish,it was drop and reel tile fishing Capt. Dan got his first tile after a long fun day on the water we had 2 yellowfins,2 mahi and 15 tile fish

Capt Rich, thanks for a great day on the water.
The cat def handles itself well in nasty seas.

Was fun catching everything but really cool finally fishing for tiles.
Better put a couple 12 adapters for the next trip , with electric reels to fill a cooler with those awesome eating fish.

Nice Rich-

I was not sure if my information got to you in time.  Hope it did.  When are we going?  My new office is nearly complete then I have three weeks free to fish before I start working.
