Hudson Canyon Report 07-07-2010
« on: July 08, 2010, 09:34:11 AM »
Left the inlet at 1130 with the crew of Danny, Kirk, Robbie and Bob and headed for the west wall where reports were very promising. As usual I ran too fast and we were in the canyon by 0300. We were up and trolling in the deep by 0330 and had our first bite at 0430 - a short tuna bite. Trolled all over - 100 square, 150/050, the Tongue, the Numbers, - everywhere but where the tuna fish were. Saw seven blue marlin during the day and had two bites - one a swipe that nocked the line out of the rigger and one legit bite that dumped half a 50 before the fish jumped and broke off. Lots of life with skippies, sunning marlin and scary numbers of sharks up on top. The water was beautiful, clean and blue but very warm  - 78 plus by the afternoon. Fished til 2 pm and then ran for the barn - made the return trip in 2.5 hours. God Bless America and God Bless Our Troops.
