7-19-10 Sandy Hook Point
« on: July 19, 2010, 01:05:55 PM »
Well got to sandy hook point after the mile walk on sand, got attacked by hundreds of dam mosquitos which made the walk there herendous. Fished from 715 until 1000, caught about 18 short fluke between myself, my cousin, and my buddy marcus. Biggest maybe 16, smallest was so small it was still clear not white on belly end. Killies and swimming mullet chartruese colored gulp. Got texts from my mother, my sister, and girlfreind at 815 am asking if we were ok because the storms were so bad up there in Wayne. Didnt get the rain until around 10, started to rain got real windy and once we heard thunder in the distance we were out of there, too long of a walk to be screwing around with some lightning bolts. Slowest day of fluke fishing in that spot off land ive ever had, and not one sea robin which was awesome. I would usually say it was still nice to fish, but the way it poured coming back and how soaken wet my clothes were and my car now is with that hour drive home, it was not a great day of fishing.  t^ chrz

Give a man a fish, and he can eat for a day. But teach a man how to fish, and he'll be dead of mercury poisoning inside of three years.

I also took a cast out, next thing you know a swarm of seagulls flew over right where I casted going right by it, and of course a seagull got stuck in my line as I had my rod up 2 feet off the water just high enough for the seagull to fly into my line and get caught, had to reel that thing in, my hook / gulp got stuck on its wing, brought it in and safely released him, and off he flew, didnt peck at me didnt do nothin. I hated reeling that in though, I felt bad for it.. (as annoying as they can be)  cfzd
