Headed out of KMB with friends Joe and Bill at about 7:30am with overcasst skies.
Ran up the reach to the green side of the buoy 9 area. The drift was pretty fast so it didn't seem like good bucktailing conditions.. We all were using differnet combinations of Killies squid and Gulp.
Joe hooks up right away with a nice 21"er for the box. Bill and I both add keepers withing 30 minutes. Plenty of shorts comming in too. It was a great morning! We fished for a while longer when we heard some far off thunder and decided to fish closer to the dock.
On the way back the skies opened up and it poured...oh well, it's 90 degrees, no big deal getting wet...
As we got closer to Keansburg, we came out of the storm to sunny skies! We were a bit soggy but headed to the buoy 19 area to continue fishing. The drifing conditions were not as good but we had steady action with shorts and I added a keeper to the box.
All in all a geat trip with lots of action and good friends!!
