Virginia Beach Tackle Box how to
« on: August 01, 2010, 09:43:02 PM »
I just thought i would post up a little info for anybody looking to visit the virginia beach or CBBT area. Here are a few of my tackle box essentials as well as preffered baits

My favorite all around bottom rig for Spot, Croaker, Sea Mullet, Fluke, and even spade fish

I usually combine this Rig with Fishbites artificial bloodworms (much more cost effective and often out fishes the real deal). Or small bits of clam for spade fish. Or use it with squid or small cut bait for flounder

My preffered style of live bait rig for live bunker when out for those great cobia

GOTCHA PLUGS a deffinate tackle box essential i have a minimum of 8-12 different colors and weights in my tackle box on a given day as they are the go to plug for spanish mackeral as well as bluefish.

these are just the tackle box essentials there are many of other effective lures and rigs out there but these are by far the day to day producers for fish

if you are going out for redrum i stick to fish finder rigs with cut bait for black drum fish finder rig with BIG glob of clam.

hope you enjoyed it and good luck if you come down

We'll be down fishing the pier on the 18th.  The CBBT pier that is.  Looking forward to trying our luck this year last year was pretty good for the croakers.  Maybe this year we will get into some fluke...We'll see.

i was on the other side of the CBBT earlier this week fishing a channel right there by the lynnhaven marina and caught my friend and i caught our limit of keeper flounder in a little over 2 1/2 hours. the first hour was dead then BAM current changed and bait was heavy in the water

if you can get your hands on it LIVE BAIT LIVE BAIT

good luck and tight lines

Yeah, we are going to look for live bait this trip down.  There are a couple of marinas we will stop at to check out the bait situation.

I am looking forward to this trip.  There will be 3 of us this year.  Should be fun.
