Weekend saw pretty decent fluke fishing with pool fish from 4-6lbs. Catches ranged from near limit to none. With the right conditions we have been doing well in Ambrose channel with nice size and amount of fluke keepers as well as some seabass to 4lb. Gotta keep working those baits and bucktails as those that have are leaving with some nice sacks of fillets.
Yesterday was a bit tough but some did quite well while others struggled. Gotta fish heavy when the drift is fast. Had a few fishing the bow that somehow tangled up with the stern
Must pay attention to your line and since we are drifting the bait should be moving along the bottom with the sinker. Letting line out to try and stay in one spot won't catch fish but will catch others' lines.
Still seeing some real nice seabass being caught but today we had a small group and only 2 wanted to bottom-fish so we opted to fluke and having a pick at them right now.
