First let me thank a lot of fisherman that have been so helpful on this site. especially capt. Jerry with his excellent bucktailing article. I left monmouth cove at 6:45 and started fishing the sandy hook reef about 7:30. first fish 27 inches, 7.1 lbs on my scale.at 12:30 I got the 5 th keeper and told myself I would stay till dark for the 6th one but just before 1 I got number 6. I drifted the same rock pile the whole time. I lost 4 bucktails and found out a 17 in fluke hooked in the side can really fight. what a day no robins or skates and 2 keeper sea bass.
