Give a man a fish, and he can eat for a day. But teach a man how to fish, and he'll be dead of mercury poisoning inside of three years.

This I can help you with.  You can go up to barny light and fish of the jetties, or any beach front for stripers.  you can also rent yourself a crabbing boat and get yourself a really good meal, and don't forget our sponsor party boats from that area.  Its a real nice place to be.

As far as the inlet goes once you get to LBI head north and go as far north as you can go.  You will see the light park in the lot and go around the light look for a place to fish and enjoy.  Y

You will right across from the North Jetty I talk about all the time.  Good fishing in the inlet itself.

Happy Catching

Bob I am going down not this week but next week. From thursday until friday, i dont feel like taking up my grandparents vacation so ill go for a day/night.

Paul so once i get in LBI, i'll take that as far north as i can go, and ill get to the inlet. I will definitly try there, and let everyone know how i do.

As for now I will be looking forward to fishing Pt. Pleasant Inlet again tomorrow after a job in Asbury Park my father and I have to do. We should be there no later than high tide to fish for a few hours. Definitly bring back a report and hopefully some pictures.  ;D

The best thing to do is get yourself a beach chair, fresh bunker, go out there at sunset, cast, relax and wait.  You can't beat it.  Striper fishing is a little bit more lazier then fluke.  With stripers, throw some rod out and just relax until one hits the sand.  Good luct to you and enjoy.

Unless your like some of us who throw plugs and chase the suckers. So far I haven't had the leg strength yet to do that but I'm getting there.

I can remember going through a tank of gas years ago chasing them from one end if the beach to the other.

fishing off the surf is tough on the legs, thats for sure.  When I surf fish, I use it as a past time and hope for good results.  Worse case if I don't catch anything, I will at least catch a nice sunset and a buz.

mark, as paul said head north.

when you get on lbi go till you can only go left or right, at that point go left. eventually that will take you to the lighthouse/inlet. when down there stop at barnegat light bait and tackle, tell them bob sent ya. my old friend basil is part owner. ask for josh and ask him where the hot spots are t^

if you are down my end (south) let me know and we can have lunch up at my work. also the red water tower is a few blocks away but don't know if anything is there now.

Alright I'm looking forward not only to some fishing but to a good slice of pizza  ;).. I will be going down next thursday after work, probably get down around there at 5 o clock, fishing right away by the north jetty( is that on the beach?) also, about the inlet (in which i take all the way north to get to--not to sure how to get there off the GSP), then staying a night at the grandmothers house, then fishing all day saturday for fluke at the inlet. Very excited for next week  TT^

If you are taking the GSP get off at the Rt. 72 East exit and go as far as you can east.  Turn left (you will be heading north) and go as far as you can it is a few miles until you can't go any further.  You will be at Old Barney in no time.  Just watch out for the lights and don't go through the ambers they love to give tickets out for that lately. Just a heads up.

Good Luck and

Happy Catching
